GREEN - No Warning

Severe weather conditions are NOT expected to occur within one or more Essex districts during the next 72 hours.

YELLOW-GREEN - Warning Issued

Severe weather conditions are expected to occur within one or more Essex districts and are frequently issued and typical for the time of year.

Expected conditions are unlikely to have a noticeable impact on daily life. Ensure you regularly check for any upgrades to existing weather warnings.

YELLOW - Warning Issued

Severe weather conditions are expected to occur within one or more Essex districts and are issued on average several times a year.

Expected conditions are likely to cause transport disruption, minor damage to property and a small impact on daily life.

ORANGE - Warning Issued

Severe weather conditions are expected to occur within one or more Essex districts and are issued on average once every two to three years.

Expected conditions are likely to cause widespread disruption to the transport network, disruption to utility services, local structural damage and a significant impact on daily life.

RED - Warning Issued

Severe weather conditions are expected to occur within one or more Essex districts and are issued on average every five to ten years.

Expected conditions will cause severe and widespread disruption to the transport network, loss of utility services, significant structural damage and a high risk to human life.
